a review about citrus juicer breville

general a review about citrus juicer breville

It works well. More expensive than I expected but if it lasts for 10 or more citrus seasons, then it will have been worth it. I have 4 orange trees, 2 grapefruit trees, 2 tangelo trees and a lemon tree, so I do a lot of juicing. So far thus season, it has done well.

After one use, I returned the Waring Citrus Juicer and ordered a Citrus Press instead. That one use made it obvious to me that this would not be a juicer that I would wish to use every day.

    Pros:
    * EASY to clean. I wanted to keep it for this reason alone!
    * SIMPLE to use. Simple to put together; simple to run.

    Cons:
    * S-L-O-W. The speed of the juicer is incredibly slow. It took almost 5 minutes to juice 2 oranges. I also had to press hard to hold the half orange on the extractor.
    * Wasteful. Doesn’t get all the juice and pulp from the rind.

If you want a simple citrus juicer that you probably won’t use every day, I would be able to recommend this. Otherwise, I would advise investing in a slightly more expensive citrus press.

We have a small citrus orchard plus friends share their oranges with us. Since we can’t possibly eat them all we juice them and store them in the freezer. Our old juicer gave out last season so we needed one that was heavy duty and could handle the job. We froze 23 gallons of orange and grapefruit juice this year. Needless to say it worked great without even a strain. So far so good.

This is the second juicer I tried and it works well. It doesn’t walk across my counter and juices pretty efficiently. I guess the only negative thing about it is the build-up of pulp after processing several fruits, which doesn’t release a lot of juice and I have to take something to scrape it.

This is the best citrus juicer I’ve ever used. It’s quick, efficient and easy to clean. Absolutely worth every penny. I should say that I only just bought it so I’ll have to wait and see how it stands up over time.

The Breville 800CPXL Citrus Press is easy to clean, light enough to move about but heavy enough to be very stable while in use. The fatigue factor while juicing was minimal compared to the usual Big Box juicer that I have experienced in the past.

My wife bought one for my birthday. It looked really sleek and beautiful and I was so pleased with my present. Then we used it… We set it up and began making lemonade for the party. After squeezing lemons AS DIRECTED IN THE MANUAL for 15-20 minutes it stopped working and would not start again. We looked in the manual under trouble shooting but no help there. We put it away and pulled out our old Cuisinart plastic citrus juicer ($29.95) we have owned for years and finished making lemonade for my birthday party. This morning I tried the Breville again and it worked!? So, I called the company and after a very long hold, finally entering my phone number and hanging up, got a call back. I described the problem and the customer service rep did not know what to tell me. After holding a long time further, she picked up again to say that THE CITRUS PRESS SHOULD ONLY BE USED FOR 10 MINUTES AT A TIME AND THEN TURNED OFF! Unbelievable for a juicer at this price level. So, if you are rich with money to burn and want to make a glass of juice for yourself maybe this will work for you, but if you want to make a pitcher of lemonade or orange juice you better get it done in 10 minutes or less according to the factory! If all you get is time to make a glass or two there are a lot of less expensive citrus juicers around. We are returning ours for a refund!!

I have never written a review of a product but I am so amazed and disappointed in what a rip-off this product is I had to warn others.

I LOVE this citrus press. My fiance and I became fascinated with fresh orange juice after a trip to europe. If you order orange juice in europe, you can bet it’s fresh squeezed. So we decided to get a citrus press for our housewarming gift to ourselves. After a lot of research, my fiance picked this brand. We’ve had it for a month and I love it. It’s motorized, so it is easy to get all the juice possible out of the orange. Best part…it’s easy clean-up. There are three pieces you have to wash after using it. I remove the base, the strainer and the grinder, rinse under hot water and let air dry. If you rinse it right after using it, that’s all the clean-up necessary. One thing about making your own orange juice…it’s a little pricey. It takes about 4 oranges to make a tall glass of orange juice.

  • Holcombe :

Unlike Breville represents, this juicer only juices medium-sized juice oranges well. Lemons, limes, and grapefruits are left with large amounts of pulp and juice in the half that was juiced.

You press on the handle, it goes down to the point where the bottom cone makes a hole in the rind and then stops any further juicing as it hits the upper cone, so it just does not do the job on fruit sizes other than medium juice oranges.

I am so happy I purchased this citrus press. I use it daily to juice oranges, grapefruits, lemons and limes. Super durable, rinsing takes about 30 seconds, super effective juicing – less than two minutes to make a glass of the greatest orange juice (with pulp or without), and I love the design and how the thing looks in my small kitchen. I highly recommend it!

would suggest that you buy a new, un-reconditioned appliance.
This is a lovely machine, juicing is quick and easy, cleans easily, doesn’t move around on you while working, lots of lovely features, BUT…..IT IS STILL broken. And it WAS missing a part as the product description stated it may have. Just spend the money and save much hassle (and shipping charges) and buy the new one.

Bought the Re manufactured Citrus Press and am pretty happy with it. It is built well, actually pretty heavy. Only problem is that there is a little bit of juice squirting outside but since it works better than my old juice-it so much less effort going into the process I highly recommend it.

I ordered the reconditioned model wih some concern that I might have trouble. However it was delivered within 5 days & was completely satisfactory. The unit is well constructed of heavy quality materials. The stainless steel housing & parts clean up easily & it juices oranges & grapefruit quietly & with little effort. This product is an excellent value. Bert Fl.

This is a great product: fast working, gets almost everything out of the fruit, and easy to wash. Plastic waste and juice holders are a bit flimsy looking but did not break yet after intense 3 months of use so it looks like the company knew what they were doing. I also have had Ikon tea kettle from Breville for a few years now and it compliments it very nicely.

    Thumbs up:
I really like this machine. i used the HECK out of it. It is fast, easy to clean, and the two speed function is nice. The price is a nice place to start juicing. I like the wide mouth for apples and larger veggies. it is great for small juicing.

    Thumbs down:
It is not great for more juice than about 20 oz without cleaning. Many juice fasts call for about 30 oz of juice. It gets clogged and pulpy very fast. I sometimes have to run the pulp in to the machine again. The price is ok but the Sharper Image juicer is about $75 and it has the same functionality with a little less of a motor. I use this product a lot for 3 months – about 2 times a day. I have now upgraded to a champion commercial juicer for about $250. The Champion was recommended before I got this juicer.
Not a bad starter juicer. Maybe try to pay the money and get a better model.

  • Niswander :

I’ve tried several juicers over a few years, and hands-down this juicer is awesome!! It’s fast and easy to clean. The 2 speed function is amazing; I would recommend this juicer to anyone. I use it every day and for 2 people it’s perfect. Top notch product and 2 thumbs up.

I replaced a cheap Black & Decker model with auto-reverse, because the grinding noise would get on my nerves. Having said that, the cheap Black & Decker WAS as efficient as this one. So, if I were you I would check out the cheaper model before buying this one.

  • Aikawa :

I have three times only to use the product since I have bought it, and I find it is really good as I used to imagine. So far so good! The product is designed so smart and well used,as well as the technics. It is very easy when you operate this one, simply and fast. The item is solid, could be last long time. Every part of the item is designed reasonable to your use. And the item is well packaged during the shipping. It cost me 210$(including ship fees),and it is worthy.
